The goal of Mileage Media is to digitally and physically connect creative, passionate individuals who live, work and travel between NY & LA, NY & SF or NY & London. We feature select events, people, and companies from each city who may be off the mainstream radar but are doing amazing work and creating powerful impact.

Mileage(media) was birthed by 2 friends and clients, Joe Magee and Erica Berger, who originally met at the UN Social Innovation Conference back in 2011. In July 2012, the inaugural newsletter 2462 Miles attempting to better connect NY and LA launched. 6 months later, a friend of Erica’s, CBM, asked to launch 3460 Miles, connecting NY and London as she had moved and wanted to help bridge the Atlantic. And finally, after meeting Connie in a coffee shop in Brooklyn through mutual friends, 2905 Miles connecting SF and NYC rounded us out with a third and wonderful community. Since late 2014, London has been curated by Zainab, after being brought on by CBM as an intern.

ERICA BERGER

Erica Berger is a writer, product manager, and entrepreneur, as well as the co-founder of Mileage (Media). She splits her time between New York City and Los Angeles, and has spent an awesome amount of time in London and San Francisco. She’s a Forbes 30 Under 30, currently on NPR”syoung board Generation Listen and has worked at The Economist and at acquired startup Storyful (News Corp). She’s launched multiple publisher’s onto Soundcloud, and prides herself at connecting seemingly disparate products with traditional media. She graduated from The University of Southern California with a degree in International Relations, and when not surfing the web, she can be found surfing, hiking, traveling, writing, on her yoga mat, hanging out with Thousand Network, or @GoodBerger.

MALCOLM ONG

Malcolm is a Product Manager at Lyft, the Co-founder of Skillshare, a Mentor for The Thiel Foundation. He was previously an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) at 500 Startups, a Product leader at Skillshare and OMGPOP, a Senior Developer at Razorfish, and an E-commerce Specialist for IBM where he co-filed four patents. Malcolm holds a B.S. in Computer Science with a double major in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
