Buddy App is a digital platform providing support and therapy services. The digital tool links people suffering from mental illnesses with their therapists. Through a simple texting tool, users are prompted twice a day to answer questions about what they are doing and how they are feeling. It is vital, for those seeking help, to see and understand how their daily life impacts their mental health, enabling them to reinforce positive behaviours. The diary input can help to create an agenda for the next meeting between therapist and patient.
The app was produced from a collaboration between South London, Maudsley NHS trust and the design and innovation company, Sidekick Studio. It piloted in a few boroughs of London before being rolled out to other areas outside London. Buddy empowers users to tackle their illnesses.
