Lizzie Gill: New York City

Security Check:
Lizzie Gill is a media artist living and working in Brooklyn.

What else should we know about you?

I co-founded a group called the Brooklyn Collage Collective and we recently collaborated with London based Something in the Attic for a group exhibition called Brooklyn Vs. London.

What’s your historical London and New York connection?
My Fiance is a native Londoner and I am an native New Yorker. We have been building up our frequent flyer miles between the two.

Describe your experience in London as a New Yorker.
When I’m in London, It feels like a home away from home, except for everything’s cleaner!

How can New York and London better engage with each other?
With more collaborative art exhibitions, dialogues, and crossovers. It’s exciting that the Brooklyn Vs. London exhibition by Something in the Attic crosses over the two spheres in interesting ways. With an art exhibition, music event and tasting menu combining the themes, flavors and sounds of these two distinct places.

Favorite NYC secret spot: 151 Bar – This is a basement dive bar, with a speakeasy vibe. It always has great music and drinks. Plus it has a real happy hour!

Favourite London secret spot: Netil House – The rooftop has great views of london and it is BYOB so you can’t get a better deal on drinks.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Anywhere with my Fiance, my home is where he is.
