This app is a particular favorite of Connie’s, and now that they’ve launched a NYC version of their app, it’s the perfect time to feature them! WillCall works with local venues, promoters, and production companies to offer a well-curated selection of last-minute deals to some of the best shows in town – recent SF offerings include tickets to Neko Case, Penguin Prison, and Gui Boratto (no venue is too large or small and they’re especially strong with emerging rock and electronic acts). Their NYC partners include Glasslands Gallery, 285 Kent and [Le] Poisson Rouge.
But it’s not just a ticket-buying app – WillCall also includes snappy descriptions of each app, previews of each artist’s music, venue directions and transit options and social sharing, so you can invite your friends or see who’s already going to the same show. In SF, they’ve even started curating their own pop-up shows, such as a recent night with Guards at the Rickshaw Stop. Their latest update lets fans support their favorite bands directly, with options to “tip” individual artists or buy merch straight from the app. With plans to take on Los Angeles next, WillCall is well on its way towards becoming our spirit animal.
