Centrepoint is the leading youth homelessness charity for 16-25 year olds. Starting with providing vulnerable young people in London and the north of England with a safe place to stay, its work is focused on helping young people find the two things they need above all else to turn their lives around: a home and a job.
During a typical stay (around two years), young people receive support with the following:
- tackling physical and mental health problems caused by homelessness
- accessing work or education
- basic skills we take for granted – like cooking, cleaning and managing money – which are vital to living independently
Centrepoint gives homeless young people a voice through the Centrepoint Parliament, an elected body of young people representing their peers, and it conducts research and influences government policy with the overall aim of ending youth homelessness.
