What’s your historical London and New York connection?
I’m a born-and-bred New Yorker, but fell in love with a Brit, and am now living in London.
Describe your experience in London as a New Yorker.
My life as an expat is fun and exciting at times, and yet completely normal and calm. I love living in London because while it’s very similar to New York (a plus, because NYC is my favorite place in the entire world) it’s quite different as well, and I love learning all about it.
How can New York and London better engage with each other?
Coming from someone who lived in Florence, Italy for a year (which is more difficult to access from New York than you’d imagine), relatively speaking, I feel as if they communicate with each other nicely! So many flight options 🙂
Favorite NYC secret spot: I can’t tell you that! 🙂 Just kidding. Artichoke Pizza. Go, go, go. That’s all you need to know.
Favorite London secret spot: I’m not sure how secret it is, but my husband and I have an addiction to Wahaca. The food is fantastic — Mexican street food! Just delish.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Somewhere on the beach where the only transportation I’d need is my bike.
In flight entertainment:
- What’s playing in your headphones right now? Tomorrowland 2014 live sets… all day, every day.
- And what are you currently reading? I Heart Hollywood is on my Kindle right now. A guilty pleasure, for sure. I’m halfway through La Bella Figura by Beppe Severgnini, but when I’ve had a long day at work, I enjoy some mindless reading like the “I Heart” series by Lindsey Kelk.
